Christian Workers Speak

Mark and Sharon Cody are Christian Workers previously assigned to Ecuador who spoke at Old Fort in June. Last summer while the Cody’s were home on furlough, they received word from the International Mission Board that they would not be returning to Ecuador. Monetary funds had run out.  The money remaining was given to the Last Frontier workers whose need was greater. Due to the lack of giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering the IMB new it was in a crises. Last year the IMB launched a huge promotional effort to boost the Lottie Moon Offering. The fruits of their labor soon were recognized when the total counts for the offering were received. Churches around the country responded  to the  need of these Christian workes. The IMB received a grand
total of$136,204,648. An increase of 18.4 percent over the previous year.  Old Fort Baptist Church gave almost 40,000$ of that total to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering last year.  Thanks to you at Old Fort and others around the country the Cody’s are once again going to their place of service in Ecuador. Praise the Lord!!!!!!

Please continue to up lift the Cody’s in your prayers. They are going back to Ecuador to handle some tough situations. Pray that the people in their area will respond to their presence and the churches will once again be thriving.

R.E.A.P.-Peru Team Ignited
During the month of July Eric Lethco, Mark Redwine, Jim Dirks, Eric Shamblin, Josh Weaver  and Taylor Lethco went to Peru on a R.E. A. P. vision  trip for Old Fort Baptist Church.
What does R. E. A. P. stand for? It is the Rapid Entry Advanced Plan. This program allows the church to become a part of the Christian Workers program by adopting an unreached people group. Unreached people groups are towns or cities which have less than 1 percent of it’s population who have been saved. God has given Old Fort Baptist Church an incredible opportunity  to join him in his work by sharing our knowledge, our resources and our faith with  a needy people.
This team of travelers presented their experiences to the church on August 2. The slides and video presentation were breathtaking. The people in this presentation were worn and tattered from their rustic everyday living. The church buildings were beautiful, but locked up and empty.
The priest had gone away, never to return. Truly these were a people without a shepherd. God is calling us to go. The people want us to come. There is much work  to be done. How will you allow God to use you to bring life to the weary  people in  the highlands of Peru?

Several Teams will be involved.
1) The Vision Team.
2) The Jericho Team (Prayer Team)
3) The Banner Team(Support Teams): Home Front teams: Promotions, Financial, Coordination, etc.
4) Advanced Teams: Support Teams for the villages: Medical, Construction, Education, etc.
5) Preservation Teams. Where will the Lord have you to serve?

If you are interested in any aspect of this project please contact Eric Lethco or any other member of the vision team.
