and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Building Relationships In East Asia
In October, five members from Old Fort traveled to East Asia. The East Asian people are very eager to learn English, so members of our team were allowed to enter the country as English experts. Their objective was to hold conversational English corners at the local university.

This trip was special. On this particular journey, God chose one of the team members to contact a East Asian student who was ready to receive Jesus as her Savior.

As a result of God’s merciful heart, a long and binding relationship began. It is very difficult for a East Asian person to accept Christ because of the persecution they incur. If the government finds out about their change, it would cost the student his/her life.

Please remember the East Asian students in your prayers! Their very lives depend on it. Pray for the government of East Asia that they may have a change of heart.

40 Days in Peru
These are exciting times for Old Fort Baptist Church! The R.E.A.P. program is ready to begin and you are invited by God to attend one of the greatest events in the history of our church!  In May of 2005, we will be sending 7 teams of workers to Chumpi, Peru.  Each team will be gone approximately 11 days.  It will take at least 5 days to travel to and from the destination. One day will be an overlap day with the team coming next, so that there will be a constant presence in Chumpi for 40 days. The objective for this project will be to build relationships and to plant churches.  The teams are as follows:
1) Prayer and   logistics;
2) Medical;
3) Music and Evangelism;
4) Children and Youth;
5) Needs Team (Education or Construction);
6) Follow up teams;
7) Church planting teams.

Each team will consist of two interpreters and six travelers.  The trip is physically demanding. Even though the journey will be difficult, women are encouraged to seek God’s will and come along. Be prepared for the journey of a lifetime and don’t miss what God has in store for a small town in Peru!

To God Be the Glory!!!!!

On September 11, 2004, 15 members of Old Fort went to St. George to minister to an impoverished black community. A Medical clinic was held and a meal was prepared. The team found that most of the people who were coming to the clinic were needy, but the majority were already Christians. God used our team to help this community to form a vision of service for those who were in need.

On November 13, 2004, Old Fort began a new
mission opportunity at the Abby Lane apartment complex in Summerville. This project began several months in advance with prayer walking teams to prepare the way.

 On November 13, 2004, the medical team arrived for a clinic and a hot dog lunch.  Youth went to Abby Lane to oversee the children and to play pick up games of soccer.  The response was tremendous! The objective of this project is to evangelize and to teach new believers how to be obedient disciples.  Church planting is the goal.

Abby Lane is an ongoing project that will be conducted the second Saturday of every month.  If you are interested in becoming a part of this mission opportunity, contact Rich Hyde.
