Thank you Bob & Class,

I have had my surgery. I had a somewhat bad experience, my cornea was somehow scratched and this caused about 24 hours of extreme pain. I’m thankful the cornea heals quickly and today I’m already seeing better. Thank all of you for your prayers. Bill and I are looking forward to coming “home” and being with all of you. We hope to have the exact date soon.

Much love, Glenda & for Bill

Subject: Glenda's Medical Update

Hi Bob,

Many prayer requests. Glenda has finally been able to see someone about some of her other medical problems.

She saw an internal medicine doctor yesterday (Dr. Portilla) who is sending her to Newton Medical Center in Covington on Thursday for a neck CT scan, and a carotid artery ultra-sound to try to determine why she has continued to have severe vertigo. I know I told ya’ll about the vertigo, but I don’t remember if I had written that this all started when she fainted on March 25. She hit her head really hard on a wooden floor, and the vertigo started immediately after her fall.

Dr. Portilla is also sending her to a cardiologist on Friday for an echocardiogram. Glenda isn’t experiencing any problems, but Dr. Portilla wants her to get started with the heart doctor so she will have one here who will be familiar with her previous heart disease in case she has any further heart problems.

As I wrote last week, Glenda has cataract surgery on her right eye next Tuesday. Dr. Portilla is holding off on sending Glenda to see a gastro doctor about her continued stomach problems until some of these other things have been sorted out!

Please let the church know so she can be on the prayer prompter for continued prayers.

Thanks for your continued ministry for praying!

Blessings,
Bill

Subject: Glenda's eyes

Dear Bob and Barbara,

We hope you are both doing well. We have been to Wycliffe headquarters in Orlando and are back in Waycross with Glenda’s family. Tomorrow, we head back to Marcy’s.

Martin found a great job at a place called “Mountain Adventures” in Conyers, just off I-20. They sell and service ATV’s and motorcycles. He had several motorbikes in PNG, and we had an ATV as our family car, so this is perfect for him. He was told last week that he needed to get his own set of tools to start training as an apprentice to become a certified motorcycle mechanic. Martin has decided that for the time being, the Air Force can wait!

Glenda has several health problems that we will be trying to sort out over the next few months. Her eyes have been giving her problems since she got back to PNG from her hearth trip. It’s been hard for her to see out of her left eye and hasn’t been able to read well. This has gotten worse the last 6 months or so, so I took her to an ophthalmologist soon after we returned. She has a serious cataract in her right eye and is scheduled for eye surgery at Newton Medical Center in Covington on August 29. She will also see an internal medicine doctor on Monday for her vertigo and stomach problems.

 I feel fine.

Give our love to all,
Bill and Glenda
