| Mark & Sherry Cody are serving through the International
Mission Board (SBC) in Ecuador. They are part of a team
of missionaries known as the Sierra Cities Mestizo Team made up of the
Maust and Cody families.
This team is assigned to work with the Mestizo people group in the Andes Mountain cities of Ecuador with a population more than 100,000 and less than one million which include Riobamba, Loja, Ambato, Cuenca and Ibarra. Our work involves the training and discipling of nationals who are willing to lead their family and community in evangelism, forming churches in houses which continue to reach out to form more house churches in more communities. We are seeking to evangelize and train over 100 church planter evangelists in each city. Johnny & Donna Maust are currently focusing in Riobamba and Ambato. As their first priority is language learning, their focus at present is prayer for the people of the city. Their language teacher tells them this is a perfect time to be coming to the city with a message of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ as many people are disillusioned with the Church and religion and are seeking spiritual direction.
